Beth Lapides
|
Called the godmother of alternative comedy by The LA Times, Beth Lapides is the creator and host of Los Angeles’ legendary storytelling show UnCabaret. For more than 25 years, UnCabaret has been the un-homophobic, un-xenophobic, un-misogynistic and un-hacky place for comedy luminaries to tell stories ripped from the headlines of their lives.
Beth has appeared on CNN’s History of Comedy, PBS’ Women in Comedy, Comedy Central, NPR’s All Things Considered, Politically Incorrect, The Today Show and Sex & The City. In addition to hosting UnCabaret, she’s hosted a talk show pilot, The Couch, for MTV, the podcast Life and Beth, and two daily radio shows, The Beth Lapides Experience and Radio UnCabaret. Her new audiobook So You Need to Decide features intimate conversations with comedians, writers, and cultural icons about five universal experiences: family, work, love, moving, and spirituality. |
